IT Ministry Introduces Pak Hajj App for Enhanced Pilgrim Experience

In a groundbreaking move, the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications (MoITT) has launched the Pak Hajj App, revolutionizing the digitalization of Hajj operations for pilgrims. Developed by the National Information Technology Board (NITB), the Pak Hajj App, was jointly inaugurated by Caretaker IT Minister Dr. Umar Saif and Caretaker Minister for Religious Affairs Aneeq Ahmed.

During the launch, CEO NITB Babar Majeed Bhatti provided insights into the app’s features, emphasizing its role in simplifying the Hajj experience. Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunications, Dr. Umar Saif, highlighted the accelerated digitalization efforts in the country, driven by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). The Hajj app marks a significant milestone in this digital transformation journey.

Key features of the app include one-time password (OTP) registration, unique ID generation based on CNIC and application number, and the ability to update personal information. Pilgrims can track their Hajj application status in real-time, view flight details, access accommodation information for Makkah and Madinah, and submit inquiries or complaints.

The multilingual app, initially available in Urdu and English, offers a user-friendly interface. Dr. Umar Saif highlighted the offline map feature, allowing pilgrims to choose the shortest route to their destination and share their location. The app supports multiple destinations, catering to the diverse needs of pilgrims.

Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Aneeq Ahmed commended the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of IT and NITB, emphasizing the importance of upgrading the existing Hajj system with technology. The Hajj App, he noted, serves as a centralized platform, seamlessly integrating with existing Ministry systems and providing valuable insights into the true sentiments of pilgrims. As technology continues to play a vital role in day-to-day affairs, the Hajj App represents a forward-looking solution for a more streamlined and efficient pilgrimage experience.
